Well last night at work I put on my uniform and when I reached into my locker for my light.....it was no where to be seen. This is the second light light in a month that I lost at work.

Both were Romisen RC-N3 Q5's, which I bought specifically for work figuring the low cost wouldn't hurt too much if I lost them. Yeah right, I'm so freaking pissed right now.

I have one left which I will start using tonight.

Don't you hate losing lights?
 
Try putting an address label around the battery. Then if an honest person finds it, you might get it back.

I've been very fortunate in that every time I loose a light, I find it shortly thereafter.

I hope they turn up!

I know I would have to return something that I found if it has contact info on it. If not, then how the hell can I return it to its rightful owner....which in turn leads to "Finders Keepers"
 
I lost a 2AA Pelican a while back I think someone nicked it because I always keep it in a certain place. In the past one of my sisters boyfriends borrowed one of my dad's Maglites and it was never seen again and left a new 2c Maglite outside on the ground(I found it a month later, luckily not while I was mowing the grass.)

No they weren't stolen. I do maintenance so I do a lot of bending, kneeling and squatting so it most likely fell out of my pocket. However if another worker did find it he would most likely just take it since everyone else just uses minimags.

The RC-N3's are perfect for me, bright, good throw and not too expensive. When I do my building inspection I easily hit the penthouse windows on my 26 story building.

I however am getting tired of repeatedly buying the same light over and over. I might have to start looking for something comparable to this light.

Also good idea Paladin, I will definitely be putting my name and the building number I work in on a piece of paper in the battery tube.
 
Maybe you should consider a good holster to cut down the chances of it dropping out of a pocket, it would also free space in your pocket so you could put other things in that could drop (kidding! :D)

Man, it sucks losing lights, i thought i lost my E01 in the office, turned out it was inside a file i was working on and dropped into my lap when i reviewed the file a few days later, man that was a nice feeling, now i have 2 E01s cos i ordered another when i thought the first was lost.
 
Believe me I know the feeling, last night when I came home from work I could not my find P2D after I put everything in their respected places in my nightstand. I was sooo pissed off, I checked everywhere. I started to think if I left it at work someone would take it or maybe feel out of my pocket somewhere... The way I found it is when I dropped a quarter on the floor and saw it under the toe kick of my dresser. Wosh that was scary.
 
So after asking everyone I work with if they found a flashlight they all answered no. I then brought in my backup RC-N3 and again asked each person when I saw them if they found this flashlight and showed them the light.

Well today I asked one of the guys, and when I showed him the light he said yes he found one. At first I thought he was messing with me but he was serious. So when I asked him for it, he said it was at home and that he would bring it in.

What bothered me is that when I asked him where he found it, he told it me it was where we keep our supplies in the basement. Only us maintenance workers would be there so it obviously belonged to a coworker.

He did mention that it was a very good light and asked where to get one. I was going to offer to just sell it to him but, it just rubbed me the wrong way that he didn't at least leave it in his locker in case someone asked about it.

At least in the end he was honest about it though.

I was getting ready for work, and I thought I misplaced my RA Twisty! Thank god it just fell out of my pocket when I was in the car.

I was happy when I saw it. :)
 
Definitely invest in a holster. Seems foolish (to me) to keep making the same mistake over and over. The belt clip isn't secure enough to be trusted by itself. Yes they're cheap, but not that cheap.:grin2:

Buy a more expensive light. You'll keep inventory of it and insure it is with or on you. ;)
 
I use 2XAA in my N3 so I would need to find a holster that would accommodate something that size.

I usually just keep it in my pocket though because I already have my Gerber multi tool, a folding box cutter and my radio hanging on my belt.
 
Definitely holster it. I carry anywhere from ~$100-500 worth of illumination on me at most times, and the more expensive ones are always holstered and when you know how much it's worth you develop a habit pretty quick of taking inventory about every 5 minutes, so if you loose something, you can usually back-track and find it. I have never lost a *really* nice light, but did loose an LM301- I think in the engine bay of my mom's caravan when doing a little work on it for her. Hopefully it's not in one of the intake runners......LOL

Or you could just roll up a C-note in the tube.

Aside from theft, I find the expensive thing to work with almost everything. I lose cheap pens almost hourly, but the ones I really like are very rarely lost. When you buy something assuming you may eventually lose it, it has a way of self-fulfilling.
