I just received my new LSH-P from Dan at tacticalwarehouse. I got it in one day!!!!! Thanks Dan! Anyway, my first impressions are that I am very impressed! Quality to it's finest. Heres the question. I got LSH-P#054. It appears to have left Arc on 3-28-03. How many varieties of this Light are there. I see others with #'s like 848 and such, much higher than mine. I was just curious. thanks and I'll give a more thorough report later. thanks for the forums. dtsoll /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nice light, isn't it? I love mine!
Who knows, I collect Microtech knives, and the serial number game is a hot topic. Our best guess is they do a bunch of handles, (or in this case bodies) and then just pull them out of a bin for assembly in no particular order.

Jackblades,
Are you any relation to the Jack Blades from NightRanger? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Sorry, I couldn't help myself. I'm sure it has to do with knives correct? I love them too! Yeah, the Arc LSH-P is a fine piece of workmanship fer sure. As soon as it gets dark here me and the LS and the E1eKL1 are gonna do a beam test. My first thoughts are the LS may win out but not by much. The E1e-KL1 combo are a fine light also. I'm glad to have both and I see an Arc LSL-P in my future. Better start savin now /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif dtsoll

Congratulations dtsoll!

Yes, each model has it's own sequence of serial numbers starting at zero and going up.

And yes, we do a batch and pull them out of the egg crates (kept seperate from each other so they don't scratch) in no particular order. Also, some numbers never make it into production because QC catches them.

We record the serial numbers in a private list so we can see when a particular unit was made, etc.

The upcoming LS4 and LS5 will also have an ESN (electronic serial number) that is different than the case serial number. These will also be recorded privately.

Peter

Thanks Peter,
You make a fine, fine product. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif dtsoll

I looked at both beams E1e and Arc LSH-P in a dark room. Man, is the Arc so much whiter or what? Not taking anything at all away from the E1eKL1 combo but this Arc is one heckuva Light. dtsoll

My LSH-P just walks through the KL1 on E2 beam. It totally out spots it. Not sure if overall lumens are brighter though. Yes the LSH is much, much whiter.

No, I am not. I had that forum name for years and one day about 18 months ago I typed it into google....(GASP) everybody's gonna think I'm a NightRanger fan! Oh, well..I was the Jack-of-Blades before that guitar boy ever picked up a pick! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/twak.gif
You are the very first in over 2000 collective posts to actually see the connection. Congratulations, I will buy you 2 tickets to the next DogStar, er,..um,... NightRanger concert in your area. Just so long as you reside in Havana, Cuba.

Bring me back some cigars. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

the reason I sold my E1E-HA and KL1 was the arc LSH-P beam was so much whiter that I didn't like the surefire any longer. If they are one of the premier light manufacturers, they should do better.

I compare my LSHP and the E1e/KL1 combo too. The LSHP is so much whiter. And I prefer the beam pattern of the HD LS. But I won't sell the E1e combo. I love it too.
