Just got this light today. Brief spec. of this light:
- Uses 1xAA battery
- 1W R-bin
- Orange Peel aluminium reflector
- AR coated glass len
- 2 stage output
- Type 2 anodized
- Head can handle 0.8v ~ 4.0v input

The quality is good. The anodizing is well done and the thread are smooth.
The output on low is just nice on 1.5v alkaline/lithium. On high, it's pretty bright, it's comparable to my L2P (1AA). With my eyes, I can't really see much difference. The clickie have a nice feel, almost same as the Fenix. 2 stage is done by cycling thru the click> low> high> off.

Mine came with a off-centred LED. I remove the head and then the heat-sink. Upon closer inspection, found the LED sitting perfectly centred on the heat-sink. The problem was the reflector. It's not a screw in reflector, but a drop in reflector. As such, there is a bit of free play as compared to those screw in reflector.

As the reflector is drop-in type, when I unscrewed the heat-sink, it's a bit loose and will be resting on the LED when you are holding the head pointing upwards.

And with the head pointing upwards, I screw in the LED heat sink, making sure the reflector is well centred with the LED before tightening the heatsink. Now it looks well centred. Other than this, I've no complain for this light. :)

This light measured 100mm x 21mm. Definitely not 92mm long as stated in the website. Did I mentioned it cost $20 shipped?

I'm hoping LumaPower will introduce a HA-III version for the LM series later!

Body comes with 3 flat sides, no brands or marking on it.

I think it might be availible in HA3 for $8 extra. Should Email Ricky and see.

Hi, does this LM30x runtime graph have the same vertical output measurement units as the graph done for the FT-02 here. If so am im right to assume that the LM30x series put out mor than 3 times more than the FT-A2?

I doubt they have the same vertical output measurement btw the graph you posted and Lumapower. My LM301 had about the same brightness as the L2P on 1AA, definitely not 3 times brighter!

BTW, the LM3xx are driven at 320~330mA according to Lumapower. So it can never be 3 times brighter.:)

btw, u wouldnt happen to have an FT-A2 for a comparison shot would u?
 
i see thanks man, would u consider the L2P on AA body significantly brighter than standard L1P?

cos the FT-A2's new circuit run about 240 mins on 2650mAH, LM301 runs 115 mins on 2500mAH. at less than half the runtime i would expect much difference in output, or is the A2's new circuit really that much better?

I don't have a L1P to compare, but my guess is both L2P on 1AA and L1P will have about the same brightness. Only difference is that the L2P on 1AA may be better regulated and better runtime.

I read that the new HA-III FT-A2 have a new circuit but the output is reduced. :)

LM301 Runtime on my Sanyo 2300mAh is about ~85min before I saw a drop.
 
FANTASTIC build quality. I was really surprised when I got it!
