Anyone know if there is a CPF discount when buying Lummi lights?

I really want a Wee NS. I noticed a while ago there was a post stating you could use CPF30 as a discount , I tried this and it doesn't work anymore.

The Wee NS only costs $50 or so; hardly worth worrying about. It's going to last the rest of your life anyway, as long as you don't lose it.

Besides, it's not manufactured in a south-Asian sweatshop owned by Big Evil Corp., it's designed by a guy in England who farms out the CNC work to a local machine shop. Given the way the economy is going lately, that is exactly the sort of business you should encourage.

Well, since it is ONLY about $50...hardly worth worrying about, why don't you buy a Wee NS for mcbsteve? I'm sure he would appreciate it. Personally, I think hard before I spend $50 on what I would consider a "luxury" item.

Oh, and thanks for the lesson in economics. But since I live in a free country, I believe that means I can buy from anyone I choose.

I hope I made my point as to how arrogant your post sounds

No hard feelings I hope, I own a Wee NS and absolutely love it. But it took me 6 months to pull the trigger on one.

My son has been waiting longer. We'll see. I hope he gets it soon, he bought it on my recommendation, and now I feel bad cause it is taking 3 months.

I won't comment further on the price issue because I think TECENG said it best.

I don't think this item is overpriced but if you can get a sale price... why not.
Anyway... I ordered the Lummi Wee NS and can't wait to get it.

Thanks for the posts. I haven't been on here long and don't know much about flashlights other than I LOVE them. I come here for advice and I always find it!

Thanks

Oh yeah... I don't live in the United States. This flashlight set me back over $100. But I am glad to support an American business above most others anyway!

Many of his posts (at least that I've seen) are that way. :shakehead If there were an "ignore" function where I would never see his posts, I'd be happy.
There can be no doubt that I'm capable of being offensive at times, and when I do I usually manage to offend everyone in the area all at once. But, I've discovered over the years that there are certain types of people who are more/less guaranteed to be consistently offended by my viewpoint and/or the way in which I express it, regardless of my intentions, and I've learned to stop worrying about their feelings. After all, as you pointed out, both you and I live in a free country (if opposite ends of it), and since interpretation is a choice made by the interpreter, it would be a foolish waste of my time to take personally the ways other people choose to feel -- that is a condition called "codependence", which I have spent the better part of my life untangling myself from, and I'm not going to go back to it.

I hope that doesn't also offend you, but if you want it to, that's your business.

That being said, I too think long and hard about spending money on luxury items, but at the same time I don't complain about their price because, as you pointed out, they are luxury items; I must be doing alright if I can even consider buying them at all.

Anyway, the original intent of the post was to convey that the product is so good that $50 is a reasonable price to pay for it.

How odd...there really doesn't seem to be an "ignore" option here. first forum I've seen that doesn't have it. too bad; I know some people rather like it.

Back to another topic...when parts are out, it can take some time to get back in....especially with the delays of batteries (AW - the maker - and Lighthound are out of them) and the tritium locators (which also seemed to have been out by the maker). The good thing is is seems like everything is coming back in stock and purchases are being sent/dispatched.

All-in-all, Rob seems to follow the Golden Rule (Do onto others as you would like done onto you - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethic_of_reciprocity) while doing business. He's a good guy and tries to make good on his promises. I've had to wait for stuff on occasion, but once he has everything, his turn-around is quick. It sucks when you have to wait (impatiently...as I do...), but there are reasons and Rob will explain them to you. When corresponding with him, he follows-up quickly. I've never had the opportunity to meet or speak with him (all my correspondence has been through regular mail and email), but there is a post somewhere in this forum that says he's as friendly and helpful on the phone, as well.

Lastly, we all read our posts and interpret them in our current mindset. If today was a great day, that's how we interpret our posts. If it was not so good, then our interpretation changes. I'm sure we've all thought about that from time to time, but it's a good thing to bring up again.

Anyway...off my soapbox...and onto  and reading the forums!:hitit::thinking::party:

Good luck, have a great day, take care and :grin2:.

MkLight: You summed up my approach absolutely spot on :thanks:

Reminder that this thread is about asking if there is a Lummi discount.
Answer is I have never offered a CPF or other discount as such.
I do have a combo offer on my web site when purchasing a Raw NS & Wee NS together.
The Lummi torches have always been priced fairly, I am not greedy on my margins.
Hence Lummi torches can normally only be purchased direct from Lummi as there is not normally enough margin to interest resellers.
Actual retail prices are closer to the actual cost to manufacture than allot will realize.

There is another CPF thread called I hates the waiting, for those currently waiting for back orders to dispatch. Please try & keep the waiting frustration in the appropriate topic.
