There was a window from say Thanksgiving (USA Holiday in late November) 2009 to the NSA spying in 2013 where I lurked here and didn't buy a single flashlight, well maybe one...
The economy wasn't so good and I was largely unemployed during this time frame. That said I kept up on the lights I was interested in and did a lot of research and read many threads.
I think it was a very interesting time back then and performance didn't seem so exciting so build quality and design was better.
I recall a small sterling silver torch from the UK with a hallmark and a reasonable price but now can't find anything about it.
There was American lights like Novatac, Peli, Arc, Inova that are now gone.
Fenix and Nitecore were making Chinese lights that were actually good.
Surefire was fun to mod. and you could afford a 9P or a 6P in any configeration. Malkoff was good only I didn't know what it was that I had.
So I wonder if there is anyone here that just reads a lot but doesn't do so much with light? If so do you think some day you will collect all the lights you wanted from back in the day? I'm doing that now but nearly complete in my goals. I sure wish there was lights being made now that are worth wanting.
