That's interesting. I was thinking of
installing an LS in my microwave oven.
It's hard to judge cooking progress
from color with a silly yellow
incandescent.
Red and brown are rendered nearly
indistinguishable when illuminated with
yellow light.
With white light the situation is much
better. You can judge the progress of the
cooking of various meat and poultry much
better when you can see the actual color of
the meat fibers.
In my opinion, all newly designed microwaves
(as well as other type of ovens)
should embrace the new lighting technology.
