When removing the emitters from my luxeon stars, The leads to the luxeon broke. There is still enough to solder to, barely, but is there anything that I can cut away to extend the leads? The black plastic liner? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif
Thanks,
Jay

Jaids,
If you can still solder to them you *can* still dig into
the black plastic body, but why? Just solder & you're
good to go. Also--the leads poke out on the opposite side,
giving you two chances to connect.

Cheers,
Jamaica

Thanks jamaica,
The reason is that the connection has very little integrity.
I have yet to try the leads on the adjacent sides.
Thanks again,
Jay

The tabs adjacient to the leads are electrically-common to them. You can solder to them instead.

Jaids,
Even a tenuous connection is a connection! Suggestion:
tack on a fine wire, #30 or less, then secure with a blob
of epoxy -- that should be pretty durable.

Quite right -- my mistake! (gulp) Thanks Larry, and greetings from Surf City.
