I have stayed away from next gen due to feedback with problems on low levels. Has that issue been corrected?

I think it was determined that the flickering on low, although commonly reproduceable, occurred only after an uncommon usage pattern: running on high for an extended period, then switching to low, with or without completely removing power in between. I think lowering the resistor value also reduced the occurrences.
I don't have a link to the relevant threads here or in McGizmo's forum, but I'm pretty sure there was a scare for about a week, then informal testing showed that few users would actually encounter the problem in "normal" use.
My first and favorite sandwich is the MM-Lite. I had ordered a BB750, but there was a mix-up. I thought, hey, this is pretty bright, but not the super bright that I had been expecting. The real tip-off was when it didn't burn the crap out of my hand when running in constant-on.
