My partner recently ran across some old Magchargers that he had stored away and asked me to "juice" them up a little. No problem...except that the stock 6v NiCad battery pack is down to 1.5 volts after sitting for ~4 years.

How can I rejuvenate these packs? Should I just throw them on the Magcharger's cradle and hope? I thought I read somewhere that if I charge them hard that it would bring them back - something about crystals, I think.

He doesn't want to shell out more money for a replacement battery pack - Any ideas?

Charge them with the stock charger, drain them w/the light, until dim. Do this a few times, and they may come back. Check, though, that they aren't leaking.

There's some chargers in the R/C racing realm that claim to use various technologies to "Break down" the crystalline build up, etc etc. Most of the time, the results are marginal.

If the packs dont come back to life and he doesnt want to buy new battery packs will he sell me the lights and chargers?
