I bought several 2D LED maglites at target at clearance price of $16 and decided to mod one with a dealextreme SSC P7-C drop in.
You need to modify the maglite head by sanding about 3-4mm out of the head to sit the reflector in place.
I also modified the switch by cutting a few parts, and added 2 (3 AAA) battery holders creating 9v.
I will be updating the drivers for a 5 mode I just need to find the correct one, and I will be also using (2) 18650 in the future. from 5v to 9v the brightness is the same.
