Hello,

I guess this question has been asked a million times before, but here goes!

Can Anyone suggest an led upgrade for my 3 x D Cell maglite, and also where can i buy it from?

Many Thanks

Coast HP 17 is the best 3 D-Cell on the market. Don't waste your time on a "drop-in"

Get the Coast HP-17

The Terralux with 140 lumens works fine. Try the Amazon jungle but make sure you don't put a 4-6 D cell bulb in a 2-3 D cell flashlight. There are also Terralux 500 - 1500 lumen drop ins if you like blinding wild animals and replacing batteries

If you are in the UK The Torch Site sell a 180 lumen XPE drop in for under £15. I have one of these in my 3D and it's brilliant.

The Malkoff drop-in is way better than any other drop-in for Mag. On sale right now at the Malkoff website.

If you are looking for a drop-in that can throw a beam a far distance, then check out Malkoff Devices. His upgrade is much better than even the Maglite LED due to excellent heat sinking and long runtimes at full output.

Yep i use one in my 4D and its beam is just awesome. Throws very well. Just add a UCL Glass lens and you are good to go

:duh2:That's subjective. He can also get an SR90 or TK70 or Big Bruiser or DEFT, etc. and have even more light. The first google result is your review of that light.

Anyway, malkoff is the way to go for bright and dependable. With a UCL lens. For more throw you can add a Rebel reflector.

Hi i'm in sydney australia. Just wondering where i can get a UCL and revel for my 3d mag. cheers

I recently used an old tech SSC P7 DSWOI emitter, h22a heatsink & 5 mode driver to upgrade my 3D Maglite... highly recommended though the XML might be a better emitter choice ;)

Have you tried adding the Rebel reflector? I did and it would require cutting the switch tower and soldering wires between the module and switch to get the proper positioning of the module. The Rebel reflector is deeper but it gets that depth by extending down into the light.
