Maglite mod?

Hi, I have just been given :) a old 6 D cell maglite.
Are there any simple (and cheap) mods for this light.

first off what do you define as cheap?

I started with a $50 Drop in Luxeon and got possessed into makling a $200+ Quad luxeon light.

as far as cheap goes, i'd recommend the ROP mod, or Roar Of the Pelican. using a 24W Pelican bulb ($10) and one of Modamag's Aluminum Reflectors ($30), and a Borafloat glass lens ($10) you will have ane eye melting cannon. oh yeah get some good Ni-Mh D cells too. Energizers are poo. Powerizer is good. and can be found on eBay.

buy a maglite bulb for a 5 cell maglite and install it without any other changes. i added an extra battery to my stock 3 cell lite and it actually surprised me. this mod will only set you back the price of the bulb. if you are still not happy start reading.

i thought the powerizer's did crappy in the current draw charts. check the specific sections for what you want before you buy. personally i was looking at tenergy batteries for cheap stuff.
