Hi there , can somebody tell me how much amps a stock (D size) maglite switch can take? Iam planning on building a tripple p7 maglite.
Links to topics of this kind are always very welcome!

Believe I've read somewhere that it was good for about 5 amp.
However I do not know if that was with or without the bulb holder. Imho the holder for the incan bulb is the weak part in that assembly with its spring carrying current and the sliding part too which sometimes causes intermittent bad connection. But if you're about to cut it away anyway then no worry :)

i,ve buld 3xp7 mag, switch works just fine, as long as you wire leds in series, you'll be fine.

With proper heat sinking it'll handle 5.5a. @ 11.5v. but it won't handle higher volts. "6a. @ 19.5v." I have run my FM09 for 45 mins. straight many times with out any switch problems.
