Hello, I just purchased this charger. In the manual it states the condition mode to take 16 hrs. I ran 8 batteries through the condition mode and it took roughly that. When I put only 2 batteries in the unit and ran the condition mode, it finished in about an hour. Does this sound right? Thanks

It couldn't have done a condition cycle in 1 hour. Condition = charge, discharge and charge. The fast charge rate for the C800S is 1A; I don't know the discharge rate for the C800S but it's probably 0.5 A.

Assuming 2 Ah batteries such as Eneloop AA were in good condition and fully charged before you started, the initial charge may not take much time but discharge should take about 4 hours and the final charge should take over 2 hours. So total time should not be less than 6 hours.

One possibility: Cells that suffer from high internal resistance might very well terminate the discharge prematurely, so it's possible they never really did discharge. If they were charged when you started, this would result in a short charge, followed by a very short discharge, followed by a short charge because of the lack of discharge.

I've seen similar things happen in the MH-C9000, but have not used any of the 800 series Maha chargers, so can't speculate beyond that.
