For my next project, I'd like to make a bright AAA light. Most of them out there are 30, 40, 50 lumens. I'd really like to have a 100-150+ light. Is this possible? I'd like to use a Q5, good driver board (maybe 5 modes or so if possible) and an eneloop AAA. I'd likely be using a cheap 1W host that I can buy locally for $4-8 depending on what one I buy.

To get 100-150 lumens out the front, it would need to be drawing 1.5-2.5 amps from a AA. Runtime wouldn't be long, but thats fine. I just want a really bright keychain light.

If someone could point me to someone that has tried this, or recommend a driver (from DX or KD) that would be great! Also, would heat be a problem?

If you want a really bright keychain light you should forget the AAA and just go with 10440 cells. DD it which will pull more current than I'm sure is safe for the battery but it'll be bright.

I could... but I'd also like it to run off AAA's. Also is it hard to get driver board that are ~12mm's?
