Manafont xml cree

Hi!! I picked up a solarforce L2T from ITC on ebay and a XML 3 mode drop in from manafont. I'm having a little problem with the modes and turning the light off. The tail clicky allows me to use momentary on to get to the mode I need. Then I press in to turn it on. Sometimes it goes to the mode I selected and sometimes it goes to the next mode. Its pretty difficult to get the medium mode to stay on when turning it on. It likes to jump up to Hi or down to Low when I press in the clicky.

I also found that on occasion, while trying to get into the low mode, I press the clicky in and the light turns off but when you look at the cree its dimly lit and stays that way until I click it again. Then its off.

Do you think I might have a bad module? I contacted manfont and left a message with their on line chat. I'm waiting for a reply.

I was hoping to use this light for this hunting season but the only hunting I've been doing is trying to find the mode I want. Too much fumbling.

I was having the same problem as you. This is why I'm now using a single mode XML drop-in with mine. The forward clicky on the L2T is a bit flaky with with multi mode drop-in's.

Yep, I ordered a XML 3mode from manafont last month and am having the same problem, in my L2p with S8 forward click switch. Moved it to a light with a reverse click switch and no problem, so I dont know where the issue is steming from?

Im running a 1mode XML in the forward clicky now, with no problems as well.

The trick w/ using a multi-mode drop-in w/ a forward clicky is to do a 1/2 click to reach the output mode you want and when you reach that mode, without letting off the clicky, press it all the way down. This only works when turning the light on. To change modes after the light is on you have to shut it off then do the 1/2 click again to select the mode.
