MAX1916 IC ?

Has anyone been building any circuits with the MAX-1916 IC? I found a few samples in a drawer and was looking to try them out. I have a few of KevinL's 40mcd white LEDs and was looking to make some home made emergency lights for the basement. A spec sheet is located here..

Hello there,

You should be aware that these ic's are current regulators and dont have
the capability to boost output voltage. This means you need an input voltage
no less than about 3.6 volts or so in order to drive white LED's properly.
