McE2S Switch mod

Switch modders;

I have an E2e body with a Z57 switch; I want to change it to a two stage like tha L2. To that effect I ordered a McE2S LOTC two stage Flat switch DIY kit from the shoppe.
Problem;
If I use the jam nut to prevent the switch from going out the backside the switch top is so deep within the shell as to be VERY difficult to activate.
I suspect the flat top was not the right choice for this conversion but I could not find any info to the contrary.

Comment/suggestions please.

it's better to start with a Z52 lotc tailcap. that's what those parts are designed for

Well unfortunately I didn't have a choice since the light came with the Z57.

someone posted a simple mod adding a resistor to a Z-57. converting Z-57 into two stage switch for $2.

sorry don't have the link.. 1/4 watt resistors seems a little big for the job.

well so far we have;

-the FT is NOT for Z57 (too bad that wasn't mentioned in the assy guides)

- I'm in for some fancy hacking to make it work; can't be spending money on ANOTHER switch.

-I'm guessing the deafening silence was the wait for me to realize it can't be done (easily).

yep, that would be how it works... twisty on/off , click for hi/low.

Don's two stage is much better.

switch assembly comes right apart.

I didn't have the correc sized resister or I would have finish up the mod on my Z-57.

Is the z57 the switch that comes on the l4? If so how do i get the original internals out to put the mce2s in? I dont want to break anything in mine. marc
