McLux spare screw and ti clip

Billybright,

Thank you very much. I was on the right site, but couldn't find it :ohgeez:

I am not 100% sure, but I don't think the screws that are actually included with this are Titanium screws. I do stand to be corrected here.

Don has given his source of Titaniumscrews and it will be in a thread somewhere. I'll try and have a dig around.

The ones included from the Shoppe are Stainless Steel. These are the "low dome" Allen (hex) heads.

I would love to have this bit of info also,,

Here you go guys

Hi guys,
Some of you have experienced problems with the 1/16" socket head screws used to hold the pocket clips on the lights. I too have had issues with the cheap allen drivers out there and I mentioned this to the fellow at Lunsford Racing where I buy the Ti socket head screws. He turned me on to a quality driver called the thorp made by MIP. A google will bring upmany dealers for thesebut HERE's one just for example. I bought a few of these and they really do do the job!! I had one PD pack shipped back to me from across the pond because the screw heads were stripped. I was able to seat this driver down into the head completely and remove the screws with no problem.

I amnot suggesting that any of you need to go out and get one of these drivers but if you want a 1/16" driver that will do the job for you, then here it is!
I also have this MIP driver and it is excellent.

Dmdrewitt, thanks for taking your time in helping me find the ti screw.

I added it to my cart ... 4 screws for $4.80 and it cost $6.95 to ship
If I get the Ti clip, I may just settle with the stainless screws. :sick2:

I personally prefer the stainless screws. They have a slimmer profile on the light and are more resistant to wear from abrasion. They're also less difficult to strip on your light if you have a cheap driver.

Sorry to disagree, but with the right MIP driver, these Ti screws are perfect. I have EDC'd a McGizmo Ti PD (every day) since they were released, in a Lifters Leather holster on my belt with Ti screws fully exposed and the screws still look like they did when received from Don. I see no advantage at all to have SS screws.

This might be due to the fact that the Ti screws on your PD are well guarded due to the shape of McGizmo's clip. I recently sold a PD-S that I EDC'd regularly on which the screws looked like they did from Don.

I used to use the Lunsford Ti screws to secure an Arc 4 clip on my main EDC, an HDS U60GT. Because of the way the HDS clip is mounted, with the heads of the screws exposed on the sides of the light, they quickly began to show signs of wear from general pocket carry and from placing the light on rocks, concrete, etc. Since I've switched to SS screws, I haven't had any problems, YMMV.

I do think that the Ti screws look great on Ti lights and I'll be keeping them on mine.
