I sent a fella a bunch of free LEDs and electronic parts. He was greatful and asked if I wanted a PicAxe micro controller and programmer board to play with. I said sure, not thinking I'd get around to tinkering with it for a while (you know the stuff you get and it sits gathering dust).
Anyhow, my curiosity got to me and I tinkered. Oh what fun! Using simple to learn BASIC computer language I could make this tiny 8 pin IC do all kinds of things!
I wrote a flashlight interface using the built in PWM function (L,M,H,strobe)
Songs with musical note function.
A bunch of LED blinkers such as random, chasing lights, police car strobe and such.
I'm hooked! These things are just plain COOL!:thumbsup:
