I'm having trouble installing .msi files on my computer. I've downloaded the latest version (3.1) of the Microsoft Installer, but to no avail. The problem is as follows:
I have a small program by Axiom Discovery which allows me to view and manipulate graphical representations of various molecules. One of the extensions used by the sample files of molecules happens to be ".msi". When I double-click on an .msi installation file, the file is "previewed" (like in the Windows Picture And Fax Viewer) in the Molecule Viewer instead of being unpacked and installed. When I remove the Molecule Viewer from my machine, I am simply asked what program to use to open the file, and I can't figure out how to tell my computer to use Windows Installer on it.
Help?
