I just watched the commercial for the "MIGHTY CHARGER". Everything I have been told in the past is that you can't recharge alkaline batteries. Does this new charger work or it just more of the same baloney? Thanks for any insight or knowledge anyone has of this new product.

I have had three of these type of charger over the last 20 years, and they were all rubbish, the alkaline battery`s need to have been discharged in a fast was say, in a flashlight or a digital camera, then you might get 2-3 charges out of them if they dont leak and damage your device, but remote controls forget it.

Buy yourself some eneloop battery`s and a good smart charger.

John.

Charging alkaline cells is just ASKING for them to leak! I had a rezap charger for a few months , thought it was cool, until ALL my alkaline cells had started bulging and leaking! That's when I bought some duraloops and used those with it instead of alkaline cells, I still have those 4 AAA cells, a la crosse BC1000 and a Maha MH-C9000!

Thanks for the tips! Just as I thought! Another useless sales gimmic. I do have several dozen rechargeable batteries and a Maha charger that I use. Looks like I will stay with them. Ken
