Hi all. A quick question: I am aware of the potential dangers of mixing Li-ion batteries of different age, charge state and capacities, but do you think mixing, for example, fresh ET 2500mAh and Trustfire 2500mAh (both protected) would be as risky? What about the same brand and capacity but a later manufacturing batch?

Thanks!

I would say better not risk it!
capacity might not actually be the same.
cut off voltages can be different on the protection circuit.
internal resistance could be different.
so not AS risky but i wouldnt do it :)

Keep brands and capacities together, and if possible, keep cells used in multi-cell lights together as a set.

If you are just using the batteries for a quick test. Then I will say it is okay in my opinion to test out a device. But running it for a while, then no not at all. As far as the same brand and capacity but different model. I would simply check the specs of the newer model and compare them.
