mixing diffrent mah batteries

howdy...new to the forum... did some searching but couldnt find any topics on my question.
I'm afraid I am as addicted as many of you. I used to work for the fire dept and developed a real love for lites. I currently have become a fenix fan. I now have several that use 18650's.
My lites have been bought at different times so I have ended up with batts of differnent brands and mah ratings, all protected.
now the question.... anybody know of a problem or drawbacks with using: say 2-2400's and 2-3100 in my TK75. I realize in a perfect world you want all the same but was just wondering.

Be it in your boat, your light or anywhere, never join any batteries in series unless they are matched in capacity, chemistry and even age. Once the weakest battery give out, the other battery will begin charging it. In series it will be charging it in reverse which can potentially cause disaster. It is permissable to join batteries of unmatched capacity in parallel and the batteries will esentially balance. However the initial charge across the batteries can be very high when they are first joined and the buss used to carry the current must be able to handle it. Therefore it is advisable not to join batteries of extremely different capacity even in parallel.
