Will the MN03 work with only one 123 battery? I ask because I have the DSpeck battery extender on order and would prefer to have just one type of bulb. I don't want to worry about changing the bulb when I am going to use 2x123's or blowing the bulb because I forgot to change it. Would the MN03 just be under powered with 1 cell? Would it cut the run time significantly? I already have the KL1 to go with the E1E, but from time to time I do like the extra throw of the incandesant. I appreciate any help. Thanks

I don't think the MN03 will do.

Why don't you get an MN01? It only takes a second to change the lamp. If you need one, let me know. I have a dozen or so that are brand new, but without packaging. They are from new E1es that were sold as E1e/KL1 combos.

Thanks for the offer. My MN01 is good for now, but I read on a differant thread that it will blow with 2 123's. I just wanted to know if there is a single incandesant bulb that will work with both combnations, ie with or without the battery extender.

The MN03 on 1 cell is feeble to the point of being useless. Id reccomend using an MN01.

The best solution is probably a Luxeon III mod for the KL1, once Luxeon III's become available.

MN01 is for 3V-1cell lights like E1 or E1e,
MN02 and MN03 are fore 6V-2cells lights like the E2 or E2e.

The MN01 will blow powered by 2 cells,
the MN02/MN03 won't work properly when underdriven by only one cell.

All SF LA's should be driven at specs. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
