mod an Inova X1?

I have an Inova X1. Just started to wonder wether its possible to mod it with a Luxeon 1 watt or something similar? I can't really do it myself for lack of tools and workshop. Has anyone ever modded an X1? cheers /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

this one runs on 1AA or 2 X 2/3AA for more output.
i'm not planning on doing another one. it was just one of
those, "can i do it" things...

I really like my x1. I was hoping Inova would upgrade it

it's not really worth all the work when you can just get an XO...

Thats right. Just saw this X1 somewhere on CPF and my mind ran away. Actually got an XO and love it.

Isn't the XO a much bigger light than the X1?

Absolutely. It's just not worth the trouble modding the X1 if you can get the XO off the shelf. As red robby pointed out. Also the XO runs on 2 CR123 and most probably has a longer runtime than the modded X1 on 1 AA cell.

I hear modding Inova X-series lights is difficult - with a high-probabilty chance of destroying the light due to the tight fit.
