Well, I've had my 1 mode cree for a while (sku 1892) and its just not as impressive as when I first got it.
Now, they do have a nice Q5 star mounted emitter (sku 2394) and a buck/boost board (sku 4735).
I'm fairly new to flashlight modding and was hoping somebody could verify the compatability of these components. I'm quite sure the regulator and the star are a good match, but how about for running off a low voltage AA? Should I expect any increase in runtime or brightness? It claims 350ma at 1.5 Vin. The P4 in there now is drawing .55A (so 550mA) with a fairly new alky AA....
