Hello, i have just finished doing some moding on my 5mW green laser pointer. I did some "fizical" and some "electrical" moding. Here are the pics of it.
mod-1.jpg

I have actually cut the metal with a special cooper pipe tool, and attached 2 heatsinks to the diode, with some special conductive-material.
mod-2.jpg

Then I tuned it to 9mW after some hard work of replacing and thinking /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
What do you think ?

Very Very nice,,,, that HAS to be great fun to play with.
Watch your eyes !!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mecry.gif

Whoa, nice. We would like to see more pics /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
ohh, and Welcome to CPF

Well, the next job is to paint it in a dark green (ugh, a green-green laser /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif ), i'll reply with pics after.
Thanks

Re: 60mW

So, when will some modded 9mW greenies be put up for sale? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: 60mW

very nice!

be careful not to cut any limbs off with that lightsaber /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: 60mW

Impressive indoors but... post some pics of your 60mw on a distant object of known distance to show us all what 60mw can do.

Re: 60mW

Do you think you could mod this further so that it could run on AA,C,or D cell batteries so that you'll have max power ouput for longer that 5 minutes when using AAA bateries

Re: 60mW

Oh yeah, the one the cleaners got... it put out 4.68mW when new, and mysteriously increased to 11.6mW some number of months later. And it did that without being dropped or disassembled. I'm guessing the KTP or NdYVO4 crystals somehow "fell" into critical alignment. I've heard of at least one other green laser doing this, but I have no proof of it occurring, nor do I know how much power output this other laser unit went up to. But I know it *can* happen.

Re: 60mW

Nice, but strange /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Now it's 14.5mW /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Get's hot a lot, but the heatsinks do the job

Re: 60mW

I don't think SCE will be back in business soon. You can try ebay.
