Modified LED Surefire G2

What ways can the G2 be turned into a 1,3, or 5 watt Luxeon LED, without using a KL3?

I have been tinkering with this off and on for a couple of weeks, but I'm not getting anywhere

Didn't someone put a Luxeon/converter in a P60 reflector some time ago?

I'd love to try it with a 1W HD and DB 400 (or mebbe 300 mA) if I knew the heat issue could me kept reasonable for dependability.

I like the G2 package size & weight compared to the heavier all-metal lights I have...
