Hi,

I did a bit of searching about this but had trouble finding a direct answer. Any input would be great, numbers even better.

So , for room lighting by tailstand/ceiling-bounce what gives more functional light spot or flood.

Given: average size room white-ish paint if it matters.

Thanks!

i was thinking the same thing yesterday.

and figured a lumen is a lumen.

so ittad be equal

My very unscientific test says...flood.

I have a flood to throw light from DX, turned out the lights in my office and used the light on both settings bouncing the beam off the ceiling and the room appears a little brighter overall on flood.

The lumen output may (or may not) be the same but if more of it is concentrated on a small spot on the ceiling the overall room brightness won't be as great.

At least that's the way it seemed.

Thanks for the input.

i tried a few eyeball tests also but don't have a flood and throw of similar enough outputs and couldn't decide.

but there does seem to be a difference
