Ash has been offering new aspheric lenses with discounted prices and I decided to buy a few. I guess I should consider what to do with them now. A spotlight would be the obvious solution but having a zoom would make it a lot more useful for me. I tried to search the forums but I couldn’t find any information about lights with multiple aspheric lenses and a zoom.
Has anyone done it before? How? Any examples?
Also, has anyone done any internal focusing systems (with a static front lens for better waterproofness and a protection for the aspheric lenses)? I found out that Maxabeam uses a servo motor and there were some DIY twist knob zoom systems in some HID lights. The aspheric ones seemed to be done with only one lens and a twist action (or push/pull) zoom.
