There was no booklet enclosed with my Muychondt Aeon flashlight. The dealer did not have the booklet. I did not receive a response from Muyshondt Aeon. I would appreciate if someone could email me copy of the booklet. Thank you.

Please send PM Thank you.

I don't think I got one with mine either. Why do you think there is a booklet?

I ordered my Aeon from BrightGuy; it did not come with a booklet. It did come with a single page of documentation. Picture of it below

Hmm. Question: that leaflet says rechargeables aren't recommended in the Aeon, but is that to keep Joe Idiot from doing it wrong, or can the voltage regulator actually not handle 4.2v? Also, will the light shut off when the voltage drops below 2.7v?

Dunno about using rechargeables in the Aeon. I only use primaries.

Apparently rechargeables work, however for whatever reason the regulator in the flashlight doesn't work (or at least there's no low mode available) the same so you're stuck with just a high mode.

Dammit. It must only have a boost regulator.

Is the Nautilus the same way?

Meh, don't know anything about the regulator. It works perfectly with primary cells. If you're looking for a light that takes rechargeables best look elsewhere as the manual specifically states rechargeable batteries are NOT recommended.

The light lasts so long on low I don't see this as a problem. The two cases of CR2 batteries (duracell) I ordered with the light will provide 100's of hours of use, and amounts to a many year supply given how quickly I go through batteries. $3.00/cell is not bad online.

I know, but now that I've made the initial investment in rechargeables and I've seen firsthand that they aren't the crap they used to be, I like the idea of not throwing away batteries. It's not like it's that much harder to use a driver that can handle unprotected RCRs -- the PhotonFanatic Tasklight 2 I recently got uses some generic driver that's good up to 4.8v and shuts off automatically below 2.8v. Kinda seems like that should be standard fare on a light that costs a three-digit sum.

None of Enrique's lights are meant to use with Lithium Ion rechargeables. He's posted his reasoning in his initial posts/product launches. IIRC, he just doesn't like litium ion rechargeables. The LifPo...or whatever they're called....the 3v protected cells are okay. Enrique's suggestion is a Duracell Lithium Primary. Check out his blog on his website. Interesting reading.

The guy may have his "reasons", but I'm still disappointed; among other things, his argument about burning coal to recharge batteries is flawed in that far more coal is burned to power the equipment that mines raw materials and assembles them into new batteries, just to be thrown away when discharged, than it takes to recharge a reusable battery -- not to mention the impact on groundwater pollution caused by leaking dead batteries in landfills. It's a shame that someone with such skill for design and aesthetic is also so arrogant, but that does seem to be the way of the world.

It's doubly a shame because I agree with his views on domestic manufacturing, and I like paying extra for high-quality goods, such as the Nautilus -- but not if they don't have the features I want.

This is completely off topic now, and you clearly have some sort of axe to grind.

I agree it would be nice if the Aeon worked with rechargeables, especially considering the price.

The CR2 battery is not a common size. There may be several species of rechargeables in the CR2 'form factor' to support. A few years ago these batteries were not known for being terribly safe, tho that may have changed now. My impression is the primary reason rechargeables are not supported is for safety reasons. After all the light is meant to be carried on you - best avoid turning it into a small bomb. It's also possible the small volume of the light made it impossible to use a more sophisticated regulator.

I still think it's a sound decision. If I used the light on high mode (100 lumem) most of the time I'd be unhappy about it not working with rechargeable batteries. As it is low mode lasts so long I'm not going to be going through many batteries. I've got other lights I'd be using (that do take rechargeable batteries) if I needed a lot of light.

Enough said.

deusexaethera... you have been warned by me on no fewer than 5 previous occasions for your rudeness and disruptive behavior. You have also previously received a 3-day suspension.

Now here you are at it again, this time jumping in with an insolent, ill-informed and loutish attack on one of CPF's most respected Custom makers, in which you have the nerve to call him arrogant.

You seem to have a problem with understanding that insulting and abusive behavior of that sort is just not going to be tolerated here.

Your suspension this time will substantially longer than the previous one. If/when you return, you will need to be scrupulously careful in your manners and with your vocabulary.

Edit: I've just noticed that you have actually been banned twice before, not just once, and the second ban followed your repeated aggressive and confrontational behavior. You got off lightly that time; not so on this occasion. You're gone for good.
