My A2 bulb is frosted!

I turn on my A2 today and it's super dim. Pop in new batteries and still dim....so I take out the bulb and it lookes like smoke clinging to the inside glass

Any idea what would cause this? I'll see if I can get a picture of it to show what I'm talking about.

yep, one of mine has them too...looks like the glass is smoked...maybe it was...like an over-current that occurred over a short burst of time...

Really? I was thinking it was under-driving the filament. I've had this happent to non-regulated lights with the batteries are going dead since te filament can't get hot enough. I'm probably wrong though..

In any case, at $25 a pop....this is going to be expensive if it keeps happening.

SOORY. I called SF like Al suggested and they said they are shipping me a new one. They actually apologized and said they will ship 2 batteries too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif It sucks, but it makes me feel better not to push the issue.

I offered to ship the bulb back but they didn't want it...???
