Well, as some of you may know, I've been in contact with several battery manufacturers regarding the making of Stinger battery packs using higher capacity cells, namely 24000MAH cells...

And here's the roadblock...These packs can't be made, because they would infringe on Streamlight's patent, so no compnay is willing to make them...damn...

ok, I don't get it. Manufacturers don't want to make an upgraded battery because of a patent issue, but they're already out there.

I know I'm kinda slow but if JBRO is making aftermarket packs, what kind of patent prevents them from upgrading the battery?

JBRO aftermarket battery

Maybe they have an agreement to use SLs patent?

I believe when it comes to Patents, You can't patent a substitute material. For example, you can't switch from alkaline to Lithium Ion batteries and get a patent for doing that. You can patent a battery pack if it does something unique and very special, like having a proprietary current limiting circuit or thermal management or battery power level indicator, etc.

Cover me, I'm searching the USPTO as we speak....

Well smack me with a dead B90. I cannot believe that the USPTO has granted a patent on that. I apologize because as a taxpayer, I have funded this nonsense. (hangs head in shame)
