So, I've built my first light and it works quite well.

Built this in Canada from local supplier parts:

consists of:

Hampton Bay LED Cast Aluminum Black Spot Light – 12 Volt 1 Watt

2 9.6v battery packs bought on clearance from the source

Few switches and wireing from Homedepot.

I Removed the post and spike from the light and discarded it.

wired up my switch to the battery pack since I didn't have the correct tools to cut the casing apart.

Wired it all up and it works/looks neat-o

My issue is now coming from finding a way to mount this to my helmet....

The casing is slightly tappered and when I tried to use simply zip ties they slid down and the light fell out.

Should I go with a C bracket mounted to the bottom and a flat plate mounted to that and use velcro straps to get it to work or is there another suggestion?

I wanted to keep it simple for my first build, as I test this Ill be adding things like a light filter and light concentrator to pin point the beam, right now I added a cone of aluminum foil inside the houseing to focus the beam a little better.

After I enjoy this a bit I may ditch the oversized housing in search for soemthign smaller, like Copper pipe or similar....

Any suggestions would be greatly apprecaited.
