Hey everybody,

with some of the inventions of the last months, I would like to see something new on the market that should look like this:

2xCR123a (or. 1x18650) size, aluminium body
HAIII finish (black for me)
crenelated beezel
orange peel or hybrid reflector (bright hotspot but enough spill)
SST-50 or XP-G LED
removable tactical grip-ring
selector-ring on the tailcap for output adjustment
multi-mode:
low-mode (2 lm for as long as it can)
medium-mode (80 lm for as long as it can)
high-mode (250 lm for minimum of 2,5 hrs)
strobe (250 lm @ 13 Hz for as long as it can)
maybe: extra turbo mode with 300+ lumens for 30 min
rhombic knurling on the body (grip-surface) and on the selector-ring
forward clicky, allowing momentary on

That would be my "ideal" flashlight. One extra would be the ability to upgrade the LED without the need of buying a complete new flashlight. But that would just be a bonus.

Bye,

Stephan

I'm with you:thumbsup:

Seriously now, there are many kinds available in the market at the moment, unless you have $$$$ to spend, trying them out would be better.

Take some time to surf between these halls for the information you are seeking. There is alot on offer and definite a right model will fits your needs. First and foremost usage of the light is important criteria for a light. Its best to suit the light to the usage rather than the other way around.

I have found mine and it is in the form of a McLuxIII PD-S and Surefire M6.

All the best in your search!

Forget about the selector ring (which I also would like to have though...) and wait for the "normal" version of the Olight M20 with the SST-50. You nearly have it all then.

Perhaps Nitecore or Jetbeam will built such a light with selector ing, but it will surely not be in the tailcap.

As for the upgrade, Dereelight could perhaps make an SST50 pill, surely an XP-G pill, but again no selector ring, no tactical grip ring...

I'm also searching for the perfect light, but with a different approach : I buy everything which has at least one of the features I'm looking for. Most lights aren't that bad...

(I know about the 2 problems : angry wife and empty wallet & account)

I would like to see more pills for the Dereelight. Ideally I would buy a specific reflector to go with each pill, that way I could quickly switch them out without having to unscrew the pill from the reflector.

This way the Dereelight could be virtually any kind of light that I needed at the time.
