My first homemade light (work in progress)

Hi, here its my first single AAA homemade prototype, its still a work in progress, but my hopes are that it can be finished for the forum contest ending this monday.

I only need to build & put the circuit in the head, the picture is shown with a 5mm led, but I want to finish the luxeon circuit.

Here are the pics compared to my EDC ARC AAA

The threading in the head is hand made and the thread in the body is hand tapped. The tap was choosen from the few I currently have, I really wanted a finer thread...

Nice Light and workmanship.

It is easy to get carried away with threads that are too fine. My brother and I made some bodies and thread samples with different pitch threads, expecting to like the finest version. While they "look" the nicest, the thread that actually worked the smoothest was a slightly coarse one, which was actually over bored in hole size. It turned out that this was more dirt / sand resistant than the "precision fine threads" version.

I'm having a hard time trying to solder a zetex circuit, even with pbarrette tutorial on how to do it, I'll do it using a small pcb.
