That is a very good design using the Triangle wave osc againest the triangle wave osc ref for variable PWM

Very smart using the LM317 in CCM !!

You might want to look into using a small uCPU next time to make it smaller, something like the Cygnal 8051F300

I think he's planning to float it around the lake or something.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif. The LM317 might not need heavy heatsinking but I really don't know if the black goo under the LSes does. Seriously though good use of logics.

Black stuff is silicon rubber, a really thin layer gluing the LEDs to the holder. Do you thnk I should add a fan too? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I work at a hi-end home stereo repair shop, audio work is my background. I put together the circuit during few slow days. No shortage of hot stuff here, Class A amps that sit idle and draw 500 watts, that's insane.

Mike, does the silicon rubber a has good thermal spec? I would put a thin layer of thermal paste they stick quite well on flat surfaces.
