My new Quark Mini123 Flashlight mini review

Well I purchased a Quark Mini123 the other day from Survival-pax.com, and let me say I really like this light so far. For the money (37.99 with free shipping) It was well worth it. I could not believe how bright this light is for the small size.



Im not very fond of the twist on/off type of lights but this one just caught my eye.

I must say that I am pretty imperessed with the output of the light so far. I have not been able to see what its like outside at night yet, but im sure it will be pretty decent.



Few things I didnt like:

The new model S2 is only 135 lumens, I guess the old one was 185lm

The Beam has a green tint (not a big deal considering it was a 37.99 purchase)

Split ring hole could be larger to accept a bigger ring(one that would accept keys also)

I dropped the light while it was on the highest setting and when it hit the ground it stepped to another light level. (not that big of a deal)



Overall I highly recommend this light and purchasing it from www.survival-pax.com. The service was top notch and the shipping was not only FREE but very fast.

i think it goes up to 255+ lumens when using a RCR123 3.7 volt,since it has no buck function in the driver,so it goes into direct drive mega lumen mode,gets hot fast though
same thing with a quark mini aa on a 14500 lith ion 3.7-4.2 volt cell...from 109 on a alkaline,to close to 300 lumen on a 14500

I think it's over 500 lumens on start up with an RCR123 cell actually, but significantly more heat than the XP-G versions at that high current as well.

Just picked up a miniX-ML. 210 lumens--this thing rocks! and, only a few more dollars that the S2 version.

I think the new S2 editions are rated in ANSI lumens, the older R5 edition was in OTF lumens - so you can't compare the numbers directly...

My MiNi 123 S2 is brighter than my R5 - but (unfortunately) more greenish too...
