Hey all.. So my NDI finally arrived! The R2 is sweet.. Yeh slightly ringy but as much as I like a smooooth beam profile I don't care much for hunting white walls so I'm glad I went with the slightly better output of the R2. With that aside my question is ... The head doesn't have to be loosened much to become slightly unstabe.. Only very slight but still noticable.. Doesn't matter much as the difference between head tightened and user identified mode is less than a mm. But wondering if anyone else has noticed this... My old NDI from what I can remember was quite tight.
 
What you are experiencing is IMO a typical behavior of NDI. For a proper operation the head must be well tight or well loose, any uncertain in-between position may lead to an erratical functioning.
 
Just seems to have too much slack when its well loose... Hmmm I'll try and source a fatter O ring and see what happens :) I just love the UI on the NDI
 
Man, I've had mine so long I forgot all about that. Yeah, I just used a fatter _ring (don't remember from what) and it went away. It also helps to de-oxit (or pencil erasor and alcohol) the contact surfaces.
