NDI UI problem

I received an NDI via BST. For those of you who know the UI and User Defined Brightness, I can get the light to go to High, strobe and user mode but cannot get the user mode to fade from high to low. I put it in user mode and quickly tightened and loosened the bezel in the same way I do it when I go from high to strobe but it did not work. Ideas!?

Very easy: Start with loosen bezel (user mode). Short tightned and loosened bezel will cause brightness to ramp up, short tighten and loosening again will cause the lamp to ramp brightness down. Switch lamp off to memorize actual level.
