Need a "backup" watch

I'm cringing again as I'll have to send off my beloved Tag 1500 to get a new battery, a fortunately infrequent occurrence.

But I'm now watchless, and I'm not going to be looking at my #&%*@#! cell phone everytime I want to know what time it is....

So I guess I need a second watch. The Tag was an engagement gift, and honestly, I'm starting to get a little leary of wearing it everyday, for everything, and everywhere, for a variety of reasons.

I was hoping to get another Seiko dive watch, like the one I used to have before it got trashed (not by me...long painful story), but I'm honestly not really up on watches. I know I'd like something not too fancy, with a quartz movement, very durable, and in a style similar to the Tag 1500 or the Seiko black/white/orange knight...which I'd just buy, but I understand they, like the Tag 1500, have been out of production for some time.

I've found another Seiko dive watch, Model SKX175, which seems similar in style to my old blue and red Seiko diver. Any opinions on this particular watch?

Oh, and I'd like to keep the cost down around $250 US or less.

Any suggestions, guys (and gals)?

For myself I've been thinking the Casio solar if not the basic G-Shock $65. It isn't pretty in any sense though quite durable functionally. I like your choices...this Pepsi style if you don't mind an auto:

I've bought one watch from this shop and the transaction was smooth. I keep wanting to buy a Seiko SKX007J but I now see they don't have any. The 009J variant is still available through them.

I also browse this forum:

It' not huge like some other watch sites though.

Thanks for the links.

That's a nice looking watch, though I've never had an auto. And, ahem, I'm not even sure what "auto" means in this context. I take it I would have to wear it, each day, or it will run out of oomph? This might be OK, since I could then upgrade my Tag to my "dress" watch. I think I'd also like a stainless band, so I guess this would be the same watch you pointed out, but with a stainless band?

Seiko seems to have so many of these things, do you have any idea what the basic differences are between the variants?

I also like this one:

Don't knoow if I'd grow to love, or hate, the orange, but it is pretty good looking, IMHO.
