I have plenty of floody lights. Now I need a good thrower. I like Solarforce and Fenix brand lights. I have an L2P with the M3 turbo head and an L2T with and xml. I also have a Fenix TK45. Those are the three I use all the time.

I've been eyeing the Solarforce S2200. I also like to use 18650 batteries. Thanks

Define 'thrower'. The Nitecore EAs and Tiny Monsters will throw a couple hundred meters. The SureFire Hellfighter will throw over a half mile. Some of the HID lights will throw even further. Some info on why you want a 'thrower', how far you want to throw, acceptable beam profile and spill, and a possible budget will be sure to get you a lot of good suggestions. We all have our opinions, and we're not afraid to share them!

posted in my thread around $150. Whatever throws the farthest for that kind of $$. What throws farther than the S2200 for that price?

Pretty hard to beat the TN31 or TK75 at that price point. I have both and the S2200, they both easily out-throw it

The TK75 has three xml's. Always thought multiple led's were all floody like my TK45? Looks nice though. The TN31 looks nice as well. The higher the CD, the farther the throw correct?

Noticed the TN31 has a CD 90,000. And it has a beam throw of 840 meters. Thought I read somewhere that the S2200 has 92,000 CD. No idea on the throw. I just noticed the TK75 has 90,000 CD and supposed throw of 606 meters.

The Catapult V3 looks nice as well. Supposed 500 meter throw. Does anyone have beam shots of any of these?

So far, I like the TN31. It has the most throw (so far).

I have all of them, catapult included. TK75 would easily be my favourite of the lot! Technically the TN31 would just out throw it, but the TK75 just provides that much more usable light! It's the one I reach for most of the time.

S2200 I'm not a huge fan of really, considering selling it even, too big and heavy for how it performs. Catapult is easily outdone by the TN31.

thrunite TN-31 XM-l2 . (just found it for $128 delivered)... throws like a champ.. and has been measured by people at way over 100,000 cd :) the tk75 is a great light too :) you wont be dissapointed in either of these lights. not such a well known light is the BTU shocker..that might prove an interesting read.

thanks. watching youtube video of the TN31. Nice tight beam, looks real good. Will check out the other one. Where was the TN31 @$128?

After watching more videos, that TN31 is really sweet.

The 7G5 series with the aspheric head throws extremely well and with zero spill beam. For a little less ($100) you should also check the XP-G2 armytek predators, they throw amazing for their size using a standard reflector. They also have an amazing UI.

I have a Klarus xt30 I bought a while back, it puts out 800 some lumens, and Its a great thrower, light weight, and looks good too. I like Fenix, and the klarus isnt really in the same class as far as output compared to the tk75, but for 100 bucks or so It might be worth it to you. 800+ lumens concentrated to a 1 foot hotspot at 15 feet. stays tight
