Help, I'm trying to create a very (insanely) bright flash. What's the best way to do this? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I hear thermo nuclear devices have an incredibly bright flash!

An old friend of mine used to use magnesium "flashpots" as part of his rock band's show. They would create a 6 foot high column of blindingly brilliant white light for about 5 milliseconds. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/happy14.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Some more info would help:
1) budget, 2) intended application, 3) size, etc.
One way to get a bright flash is to get a whole mess of cheap slave flash units. Get one master flash and whoosh!

are you trying to sell sunglasses or something? too bright a flash can damage your eyes and if no one can see it safely and have to use dark glasses for protection then why bother unless you want to send a signal miles away to someone?
