My trusted and beloved NDI golden dragon plus disappeared recently, either lost of stolen, not to be found anywhere :mecry:

I've been out of touch with the latest developments, so I request advice from CPF's collective wisdom. I liked so many things about the NDI, specially its performance with one AA battery. What should I get?

One more question: is there a single AA light that has focus control?

Jetbeam RRT-0 is a nice light! BugoutgearUSA has a 20% discount going with code cpfjet right now. (runs on AA or 14500 with the extension - or - CR123 without the extension)

Another option would be the Jetbeam Jet I Pro v3.0 - not as advanced as the RRT but a solid light as well.

Not sure about your second question.

Good luck:thumbsup:

"Max Output: 240 Lumens (Torch Lumen)"
Is that true, how is this possible?!!!!!

The specs say it takes 1 AA battery

Max is 180 lumen on the AA battery

:stupid: Ahh, you're right, thanks. I misread in my excitement.

Here's their specs:

Output & Runtime: Using CR123 Battery or 14500 Li-ion

High Mode 240 Lumens, 45 min
Daily Mode 50 Lumens, 7.5 hours
Mid Mode 25 Lumens, 12 hours
Low Mode 10 Lumens, 20 hours
Lower Low Mode 1 Lumen, 100 hours

Using AA Battery

High Mode 180 Lumens, 45 min
Daily Mode 50 Lumens, 5 hours
Mid Mode 25 Lumens, 10 hours
Low Mode 10 Lumens, 15 hours
Lower Low Mode 1 Lumen, 80 hours
It must be me, but I didn't see this light mention as often as the NDI or PD10. Is this a new brand? (researching in parallel)

I love my NDI with XP-E. It can be had for around $65.00. If you loved your NDI, I say get another =)

Ah...before I finished reading the comments last night, I bought a Jet I Pro w/IBS V3 on impulse....NDI may have to wait another week or two

You will love the Jet I Pro V3 - did you get the OP reflector?

I have 2 NDI Q5 ... maybe I'll sell one.
Yes OP reflector and added an additional extra SMO reflector due to the 20% discount....I hope to buy a zebralight 501w and NDI soon :grin2:

Thanks gilly, if you have the warm tint, do you know its ratings with 14500 cell or AA?

I think the numbers quoted for this light are only relevant to R2

EDIT: and what is a good place to buy 14500 cells? (best quality that is possible because I'm going to travel in some asian countries where batteries are not as easily available as in the US)

Thanks!

Assuming you're in the US, you can get AW 14500 (considered the best among cpf), from Lighthound or BugOutGear, as they're authorized AW resellers. You will end up paying a few dollars more per cell, but it beats waiting for them to come from China.

Also, Make sure to buy protected 14500s.

Edit for links:

Thanks! BugOut seems a bit more expensive as the coupon code for jetlight doesn't work, lighthound is out of stock. But I guess I'll wait :) :twothumbs

Thanks again gilly. I already have a Sanyo eneloop charger. Would that not work to charge the 14500?
