it's a great light to have when a storm takes out the power for a couple of days! It's big, it's clunky, and it's ugly, but it will give off a lot of light for days. Plus "D" cell are easy to get and cheap!
I have the Lightwave 3000, and I think it's a great buy. I think it's comparable in brightness to my X5 and the cheap C size batteries will drive it for a looong time.
I would have got the 4000, but I wanted the 3000 because of it's smaller size & weight and light output wasn't that much more (to my eyes). Go for it!
