Most of the threads on chargers are pretty old so I thought I'd ask for suggestions.

If I am looking for a 4 cell charger for LSD Eneloops in AA & AAA size, which seem to be the most respected among the many available? (MAHA C9000 still?)

And if I need an 8 cell charger, which would it be?

Have a few Fenix lights in both AA & AAA size. Am thinking of maybe buying the TK41, and have some animal callers that use 8 AA batteries.

Thanks.

I've recently noticed when charging batteries on an "ordinary" smart charger that failure to charge properly occurs surprisingly often. Sometimes a cell will stop too soon when it is only 30% charged, and other times it will stop too late and get rather warm. I only find this out by watching carefully and measuring with a voltmeter after charging.

So even though it is a little more expensive than basic chargers, I really prefer to use my C9000. With that charger I do at least know exactly what is happening, and how well the batteries got charged (or did not).

And the cells that do funny stuff are not Eneloops but other brands. Hence, if you want the best, get Eneloops and a C9000. For charging 8 cells, get two C9000's. The price for two is not much more than a good quality 8 cell charger.

Hey, thanks for the reply. From everything I've read, it seems like thats the general concensus regarding that charger. So I ordered one today, along with a few more batteries. We'll see how it works out.

Thanks again
