Need help 10440 battery?

I had bought 4 new 10440 battery and I am having trouble with one. The one I am having trouble with has no problem charging. It would fully charge but when I put it in my Akoray k-103 the light starts to dim real quick. The other three battery seems to work fine with the flashlight. So I figure it's the battery and not the light itself. What could be causing the battery to do that?

The only thing I can think of, is to make sure that particular cell is making good contact with the contacts in the light. Other than that, it sounds like you have a bad cell. Do you have a voltmeter? If so, what is the fully charged voltage of the cell? If you don't have a voltmeter, you should get one, if you're using Li-Ion cells. It's a "must have" for their use.

When it is fully charge it is 4.24v. When I test current draw at tailcap it would start out at 1amp and quickly decline from there. I am guessing it is a bad cell. That sucks cause I just bought it.

Yeah, sounds like a bad cell. Keep in mind that it could be potentially dangerous, in that condition. I'd dispose of/recycle the cell, and not keep it around.

Ya, you're right TMG. Probably should keep it 'till he finds out if he needs to send it back. :thumbsup:

I wouldn't charge/discharge it anymore though. :poof:

Thanks guys for all your input :twothumbs. Now that I think about it, I have been using a battery holder with alligator clips on it to test my leds and maybe once in awhile I would accidentally touch the clips to together :banghead:. I really need to be more careful next time.
