I have looked around a bit and can't seem to find what I am looking for. But maybe someone knows of a light that I missed in my search. here is my criteria,
the bezel needs to be 30mm or smaller
the led, xml t6 or u2
a turbo or high of 500 to 600 OTF lumens (that can be sustained for 90 min or longer.)
a low low of 0.1 lumens or less
a decent medium of 150 to 350
the beam of course in this size is not going to be much of a thrower but even at this size some are more floody than others. I am looking for the least amount of flood and max amount of throw in this range. I have ET p20c2 mk2 xml that has a great beam, I like the amount of throw and the initial 3 min 524 otf lumens but then it drops to 340 which is disappointing. Yes I know I can turn it off and then back on but this a hassle sometimes and also the runtime is less. and of course it is lacking the 18650 capability as well as the low low. otherwise as far as build and quality it is a great light. I have looked at the zebra sc600 and like the size but it is more floody than what I like and the medium only goes up to 60 otf lumens, it does have the low low however, I had thought with the 30mm head it was going to have more throw than the p20c2mk2 that I have which only has a 25mm bezel. but as probably most everyone knows the sc600 is definitely a more floody light. the klarus xt2c comes close but no low low. any way if any body has suggestions please let me know or if anyone knows of some new models coming up that might fit the description. thanks,

If going for throw, the lumens is less important as a statistic than the lux at 1 meter.

Also consider that a light with max THROW is terrible at close range ESPECIALLY on a very low out put level, because the hot spot is so small close up. Floody lights are BEST for low light/close up work.

For an 18650 light with that sized bezel you could get a DEFT edc LR+ which will out throw EVERYTHING in that size/cell range you could get...but, which doesn't have the low or mediums ranges you want.

A Klarus XT11 would have ~ the lumen out put and size, and the medium/turbo ranges, but the low is ~ 10 L not 0.1 L...but, its a FLOODY 10 L, so the lumens are far more spread out, and the LUX is therefore about as low as the LUX you'd get from a throw based light's 0.1 L, etc.

At this point, it would be more helpful to know your use for the light, say the range you need to see out to, etc.

I live on a farm, so close quarters lighting as well as lighting up something several hundred feet away is useful. the p20c2 does this well but has the lacks I spoke of and the sc600 does ok at this as well but has its lacks as well. the klarus xt11 has the 35mm head which is a little to big but I am open to this size if there were one that matched my requirements. thanks for your input. it is appreciated.

Wow! definitely some nice looking lights. I wish I had the $200+ to buy one. at this point $120 is as high as I can go. thanks for the heads up though.

If you only need a couple of hundred feet of throw, the SC600 might actually work for you...as you can program the levels to include lumen out puts you wanted...and its under budget.

So you can set it so it has high/med/low in the L ranges you mentioned...and it remembers them, even if you change the cells, etc.

60 yards is about the range for seeing detail, past that, you'd see something was out there, but with progressively little resolution. If you need 60+ yards, the SC600 will not work for you at all.

The key question is if seeing MORE of whats out there where its pointed is a problem. You'll see out ~ 60 yards, but to the sides by much of that too.

A light with more throw will show a narrower field of view.

Is your requirement for throw based on NEEDING it to be a small patch of light, or just on needing it to REACH a certain range?

The XT11 for example would probably work for you up to ~ 150 yards of useful light, but stuff well beyond that will still be dimly illuminated, say to 300 yards or so.

Based on your scenario thus far, either might be right. Throw typically requires head size unless you go aspheric. The aspherics throw very far, but the patch of light is very small. A small head maximized towards throw will be very poor at close range, as the patch of light at short range will be very small, if that same beam is concentrated enough to throw a small patch a long distance.

The beam types are at odds with each other for flood up close vs throw at distance.

The perfect answer, for me at least, is to have more than one light.....just like I have more than one sized ratchet or screw driver in my tool box.

I don't need a small patch of light I just need the light to reach that far (several hundred feet) so even if it is floody ,which most lights this size are going to be more, as long as it has the 500+ otf lumens then that is sufficient. maybe you could explain the sc600 ui better, as far as I can tell the only options for medium are 60 lumens or 20. and I wonder how pocketable the xt11 is? I think what would be really great is an 18650 version of the rrt0 xml same size head or slightly larger but with the 18650 comp body. it's big brothers i think have heads larger than 30mm. and actually if I could have something like the fenix pd31 or 32 with xml u2 and those kind of specs that would be almost perfect.thanks,

of course the more i am hearing about the xt11 the more I am considering it. Is there any comparable models to this one or is it the best of the class as far as what we are talking about?

Does not get as low as you like but the Klarus XT 2C gets down to around 10 lumens.
The Eagletac P20C2 MKII is nice but only uses CR123 or 17650. Has a low of around 10 lumens and a deep reflector so it throws well.

No, each level has sub-levels you can set it to use instead.

I gave the ranges for those sub levels in the post above...to show you its programmable and can use those specific ranges.

:D

On the other hand, there's an excellent chance that the XT11 would be perfect anyway, in practice.
