Need help, Trustfire X9 users...

I have one on mail and wanted to know if anyone have a throw reading on this one, in 1x18650. And OTF/ANSI lumen numbers.

My X9 has just been dispatched (seller "go_market").

When I receive it, I'll compare lux readings to my benchmark UniqueFire HS-802. Plain OTF readings from suitable distance, not familiar with the ANSI standard rules.

Unless I get one of those underdriven samples that seem to be circulating lately... :shakehead

Anyone tested this light with a lux meter?

Have a size comparison between my other 1x18650 lights.

Well,i don't have the light. But one to note is that you have to compare with lights of the same reflector. Eg, a Fandyfire STL-V6 would make the Keygos KE05 look pretty dim on the lux meter, something to the order of 2X more lux. A Dereelight DBS 1.5A XR-E aspheric will make the Keygos absolutely silly.

Definitely those two lights throws better than the keygos as the Fandyfire STL-V6 uses more batteries while the Dereelight DBS 1.5A XR-E aspheric throws a tight beam. I'm currently looking for a light on a single 18650 format with good spill and this is achieve with xml but in the expense of throw. Have several lights that throws a laser type beam but don't find any use for them. So my quest now is the best thrower 1x18650 XM-L light. The X9 is great but too big while the Keygos size fits my need and looking for the best on that size. Wanted to know the lux of my lights to know if what im getting next will throw better.

Well, the STL-V6 is not about the batteries (2 of them) but rather by design of its driver. If it were a 1-cell 18650 regulated driver at 2.8-3A it would only stay in regulation for a very short while - not very useful. Even with the best NCR18650A 3100mAh it would be like 15-20 mins?

I think there is one candidate which you'd be interested in, Sky Ray STL-V3. It is a wee bit bigger than the Keygos, but that bit of difference makes all the difference. Remember stepping up from 40mm class reflector to 59mm of the STL-V6, the lux jumps a lot. Theorectically you get 4X the lux with 2X the diameter. But then in throw, you need 4X lux to get 2X distance. But of course inverse square law does not always work in reality, but it is still "around there" and a pretty good gauge for us. :).

Unfortunately the STL-V3 is way too expensive. I suspect it is current regulated as well....

Thanks for the advise, really looking hard on the STL-V3, will probably buy it once I got the funds, spent too much on flashlight related stuff this August.
